Sensor ID actively collaborates with two of Italy’s leading research centres: the University of Pisa and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa.
A synergy born already during the years of university studies:  Alfredo Salvatore, Founder and CEO of Sensor ID, obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Pisa, with a master’s thesis on the topic “Mobile Radio Terminals IEEE802.16e: criticalities and developments”, with Prof. Stefano Giordano.

KNOW-HOW

Thanks to the collaboration with the University of Pisa, our team has acquired advanced skills in the integration and implementation of wireless communication protocols and in the design of wireless networks.

AREAS OF RESEARCH

The commitment to Research & Development has been one of the cornerstones of Sensor ID’s activity since its foundation. Since 2010, numerous projects have been developed, which have focused, in particular, on the efficient management of production sites, large industrial and commercial warehouses, through radiolocation techniques for indoor environments (Real Time Location System), as an indoor alternative to satellite-based geo-location systems; in  the Retail sector, with the implementation of systems for automated and low-cost inventory, with the help of RFID technology, and the integration between robots and RFID antennas for 3D localization at the point of sale. And, again, in Waste management, with the development of an IoT-oriented waste management system, based on new RFID detection devices and cloud technologies.
