Sensor ID RFID readers markets are different and specific in their verticality: industry, logistics, retail, waste collection, vehicular access control and safety at work. Each reader, completely made in Italy, is developed and customizable according to the demands of the market.
RFID readers for the industry identify the RFID tags applied on objects in the industrial supply chain to monitor the production phases and the corrective or preventive maintenance of the plant, as well as to track items in stock. Other specific uses of RFID readers for industry are: cold chain control in the pharmaceutical industry and food traceability.
RFID readers for Logistics monitor the different areas of warehouse management, identifying RFID tags related to stock items, pallets or roll container trolleys. The aim is to make processes automatic and streamlined, reducing the likelihood of warehouse management errors. Another application of RFID readers in Logistics is the inventory of goods by picking, for example. Finally, they are used in vehicle access control, to record the entry and exit of vehicles in the yard.
RFID Readers for Retail track RFID tags applied with the following functions: for store inventory, for indoor product location projects, for store POS (Point of Sale or cash point) during check-out of the goods and to optimize the arrangement of the goods on the shelf. Finally, they can also be used with an anti-theft function to identify shopping carts.
RFID readers for Vehicular Access Control are placed at the vehicle access gates – whether they are gates or automatic barriers – and monitor the RFID tags affixed to them (on the glass or on the rear plate). The readers identify the tags, according to unique parameters and enabling the opening of entry or exit barriers. The most common applications are: in car washes, in dealerships or in pitches with large car parks, in the payment of motorway tolls such as the Telepass system, to check the license plates of moving vehicles for example in ZTL areas.
RFID readers for workers safety track RFID tags that detect environmental or operator safety parameters. Application examples are: the inventory of dangerous equipment, the monitoring of moving machinery on which RFID technology has the function of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), the location of workers in solitary or remote, access control within construction sites, the safety interlock function relating to the repair of an additional machinery or safety lock, such a condition that the operation of equipment is permitted only in the presence of an operator assigned to this task.
